The Final Post….

Dear Readers,

It’s been fun keeping it BLUNT with you for the past couple of months but I feel like I need to walk away from MIMISAYZ.CoM. Some of you may already know, entertainment bloggin is competitive as it is TIME CONSUMING. It’s a lot of work that I didn’t mind putting in, but when I started to really think about what I was spending so much time on, I didn’t feel  any sense of reward. As it turns out, Celebrity blogging is not really my thing.

I felt like I jumped on the Celebrity Bloggin bandwagon because one, at the time I had a writers block. I used to use blogging to vent about my dating life and now well, I don’t have such an interesting dating life to blog about. I’ve been with one man for quite some time now and although it’s awesome, I don’t think you’d want to hear about our little corny faux-marriage life. There’s not that much to say about it. We get up, we eat breakfast, go to work, go to the movies or a dinner…. That’s our life!  Also, I’ve been asked to respect his privacy. That’s how I kind of ended up here in the entertainment business being up in everyone else’s life!

At first it was cool.  At first it seemed like a good idea. I thought it would be a quick way to draw fame and get closer to my ultimate goal, becoming a Talk Show Host and/or Personality (after all the most successful blogs in the states are gossip blogs).  But after a while it got real tired. I  love entertainment just as much as the next American girl in her twenties, but not enough to be scowering the web looking for a story. I like sharing but honestly it was my OWN stories/personal experiences, and ideas that brought me true joy and fulfillment while writing.

I told my boyfriend and  although he spent many hours developing my blog, he understood and supports me on this decision to drop MimiSayz (I think…he did put up a fight). After all, this is my life. I’m a young girl still finding myself and it’s best that I try things out NOW. Figure out what I want to do NOW so I don’t regret anything later.

So for now, (sorry I’m using the word now so much)….

I’m actually getting things DONE. I got a new better-paying-job that will benefit me as I am trying to stack up so I could go back to school. I finally decided on a major that I might want to stick with, Journalism.. No wait Radio Broadcasting. Shit I guess I still aint make a decision hun? Hmmm??…. Let me get back to you on that.

Anyways, like I was saying…

I have tons of writing projects that were put on the back burner because of MimiSayz like my book.  This book has those crazy dating stories I mentioned earlier  and it actually includes the story of how I met my current bf, Lasse (Awww)

I’m  looking to guest write for other blogs and magazines, and with the help of Lasse, hopefully start another website with post that  really reflect ME. So look out for me because I aint leaving the blogosphere just yet. I’m just changing the channel a little, so to speak. Thanks to Jasmine Rodriquez, your blog was what really inspired me to make this change and stay true to myself. Love you and all my readers who  supported MimiSayz. Now I ask that  you kindly drop a comment with your email so I may keep you up posted…MIMISAYZSO!

Video: Rihanna, Maxwell, and Wycelf on Oprah

Talk Show Mogul Oprah Winfrey invited Wyclef, Rihanna, and Maxwell to her show to discuss the tragedy in Haiti, build awareness, and provide inspiration and hope for the people affected.

Wyclef was 9 years old when he came to United States and during his stay here, he made a name for himself in the music industry. Despite his success here, the Grammy winners passion and determination remains with Haiti. That’s why he started the Yele Foundation, an organization that have been working hard to bring attention to Haiti long before the earthquake.

Oprah Sayz: Have you in any form used money for yourself?

“No I used my OWN money to start this foundation…

About the tax allegations:

We have learned from our mistakes and moving forward, we are going to be stronger.

My entire hometown has become a morgue. Every where we walk, dead bodies. We spent hours in the heat piling up the dead. The smell is overwhelming. The local cemeteries are already overflowing so the survivors are digging graves (in their backyards). Despite what they are going through, they are still singing the words of God.

There was no heavy equipment. People were pulling out survivors (under the rubble) with their bare hands. And it’s not that we don’t have equipment in Haiti, the people who operated the equipment were underground.

Wyclefs future plans:

We need to work on some logistics to get some better distribution. Helicopters are coming down and throwing food at the people. Our people are not animals.

This song for me growing up I always used to listen to this song. I used to always listen to this song when my back was against the wall. I feel like the people of Haiti need to hear something inspiring.-Rihanna

Who’s Your Daddy? SHE IS! Studies Say That Women That Marry These Days Are The Breadwinners

Looks like men are marrying into money these days. Check out this brand new study provided by The New York Times:

Beagy Zielinski is a German-born 28-year-old stylist who moved to New York to study fashion in 1995 and stayed. Just before Christmas, she broke up with her blue-collar boyfriend, who repaired Navy ships.

“He was extremely insecure about my career and how successful I am,” Ms. Zielinski said.

An analysis of census data to be released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center found that she and countless women like her are victims of a role reversal that is profoundly affecting the pool of potential marriage par

An analysis of census data released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center found that she and countless women like her are victims of a role reversal that is profoundly affecting the pool of potential marriage partners.

“Men now are increasingly likely to marry wives with more education and income than they have, and the reverse is true for women,” said Paul Fucito, spokesman for the Pew Center. “In recent decades, with the rise of well-paid working wives, the economic gains of marriage have been a greater benefit for men.”

The analysis examines Americans 30 to 44 years old, the first generation in which more women than men have college degrees. Women’s earnings have been increasing faster than men’s since the 1970s. “We’ve known for some time that men need marriage more than women from the standpoint of physical and mental well-being,” said Stephanie Coontz, a professor at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., and research director for the Council on Contemporary Families, a research and advocacy group. “Now it is becoming increasingly important to their economic well-being as well.”

The education and income gap has grown even more in the latest recession, when men held about three in four of the jobs that were lost. The Census Bureau said Friday that among married couples with children, only the wife worked in 7 percent of the households last year, compared with 5 percent in 2007. The percentage rose to 12 percent from 9 percent for blacks, among whom the education and income gap by gender has typically been even greater.

“I’m not married, I would like to be married, and my friends are all in a similar situation,” said Dr. Rajalla Prewitt, a 38-year-old psychiatrist in New Jersey. “We’re having difficulty finding someone where there’s a meeting of the minds, where we can have the same goals and values. Particularly, African-American men who are educated want a traditional home where they are the breadwinner,” said Dr. Prewitt, who is a black woman. Mimisayz more »
